Stolen Bicycle Alert: Multiple Bikes Stolen

KFOR is reporting that three bicycles were stolen last Friday (09/23) from local cyclist, Craig Staley.   Below is  description of the three missing bicycles:

  • 2010 Specialized Tarmac (Left rear seat is scuffed and the 130 mm stem has GATA written in silver on top.
  • 2010 Specialized Stumpjumper Carbon 29er (Right seat stay cracked and repaired and one spindle is broken on the right pedal)
  • 2010 Specialized Crux (Cyclocross bike, Red and black)
Additionally, wheels, racing shoes and thousands of  dollars worth of tools were taken.  If you have seen these items, please contact the Oklahoma City Police Department.  Below is a picture flyer for the bikes in question:

Staley is a passonate cyclist and it would be great if these items could be found and returned:

Staley was forced to miss the state championship race over the weekend.

“I felt like I lost an arm or a leg. Even though I realize they’re material things, it’s a hobby and I’m passionate about it. I know everyone out there has a passion and I feel like all that was taken away from me.”

Staley rides 15 to 20 hours a week.

He logs close to 300 miles each week as part of his training.

Despite the loss, Staley feels lucky that his teammates have loaned him a bike to train.
