A Rough Start, but Still Loving It
So, with short notice and good fortune, a chance arose this year for me to go back to New Orleans for Jazzfest after an extended absence. Also, owing to good fortune, this opportunity aligned with previously scheduled time off so as to allow me another of my grand road trips. Of course, you can’t have a good road trip without at least one good disaster. So far, this year it came in the form of a nasty sore throat which started early Sunday morning.

Library of Congress Photo Collection
The Library of Congress has started posting some of their enormous collection of over 1 million photographs to Flickr with the hope that you can give them the tags necessary to improve their catalog. It’s a pretty amazing first start. Of course, I’ve spend hours at their main site, The Prints and Photographs Reading Room, which is a truly amazing collection. It’s nice to see that these truly priceless gems are still getting views after all of these years.
