As fellow Oklahomans, you know all to well the severe impact that diabetes is having on our community. Tonight at Gold’s Gym off Northwest Expressway (Map and Directions) from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, the Oklahoma City office of the American Diabetes Association will be holding their Tour de Cure kickoff party in support of this great annual ride. This year I’m chairing a subcommittee for the 2012 Tour de Cure ride in Mustang. This ride raises critical funds for diabetes research and advocacy through the American Diabetes Association. Diabetes is a major health risk in Oklahoma. In fact, according to Kaiser Health, in 2010 over 10 percent of Oklahoma’s population have been diagnosed with diabetes.
