Christmas is still five days away and yet preparations are in full swing. Every evening I come home to a house full of delicious baking smells as Grace’s amazing baking factory churns out a never-ending stream of deliciousness.

Tonight’s baked masterpieces included a whole batch of gingerbread men. This particularly effective rendition of Lady Gaga was made by Gwen’s friend Mercedes.

It was a long day of Christmas merriment and some of us needed a little nap. ;)

Some toys really need some showing off.

Unfortunately, Grace, who had been feeling poorly for the last couple of days, woke up really sick on Christmas morning. And I started to come down with a cold as well. So, our activities for Christmas Day were primarily reserved for watching the fire. All in all, it could be much, much worse.

So far the Project 365 experiment that I started in September has been a fabulous experience. However, in reviewing the photos I’ve taken so far, there are several things that I’m not entirely happy with. This certainly doesn’t qualify as one of the more attractive photos, but I guess it tells the story of my day.  It was a very damp but pleasant ride to work but I required some improvised drying techniques to get ready for the ride home.  Thankfully no one dropped by my desk during the day.

Another busy day that required a desperate search for a texture photo for the day.

I’m playing with a simple but intriguing application for the iPad that creates a virtual softbox for use in photography. It includes a bunch of patterns and colors.  It could be a great tool for a variety of situations.

It was a nice night of partying. First was the second of Gwen’s sixteenth birthday parties followed by a nightcap with our friends Nikki, Aaron and Todd. I snapped this at a local neighborhood pub.
