I’m taking on the daunting task of creating a paperless home office. However, there is a lot of stuff to be scanned, oh my!

I frightening fellow has hung around on my door for the last couple of days. He turned out to be remarkably patient with his impromptu photo shoot.

It as a cold and dreary day; one of those days where getting out of bed is a bit of struggle. Nothing makes a day like that into a brighter day than a spicy bowl of pho.

After being FreeWheel Director for six years, Ellen Proctor has stepped down and Joy Hancock has been appointed as the new Director: The Board of the annual cross-state bicycle tour, Oklahoma FreeWheel, is proud to announce that Joy Hancock has been appointed Director, starting October 2011. The Oklahoma Gazette has written a nice piece about the upcoming bike summit: A group of Oklahomans is holding the state’s first-ever bike summit in the hopes of making Oklahoma more bike-friendly. This two-day conference in Oklahoma City in early November, coordinated by the Oklahoma Bike Coalition, will be geared toward engineers, city planners and cycling advocates. via Oklahoma Gazette News: Pedal power. The Tulsa World is reporting that Tausha Borland, who killed two cyclists in 2009 while driving under the influence, will now serve twenty years instead of the original 24 year sentence: At a one-year judicial review conducted Tuesday, Kellough modified that sentence to 20 years in prison plus four years of probation. Kellough indicated that punishment, rehabilitation and protection of the public were factors he considered in reaching his decision. [Read More]

UCO is putting on a fun event designed to “simulate” the Tour de France on the UCO campus. All bikers will be riding bikes from UCO’s bicycle rental program, Bum-a-Bike. The event is open to UCO faculty and staff: The University of Central Oklahoma invites its students, faculty, staff and alumni to compete in the Tour de Central bicycle relay race at 3 p.m., Nov. 2. As part of Central’s Passport to France semester of activities, the race will simulate the Tour de France, the annual bicycle race held in France and nearby countries. [Read More]
