Spokies Targeted by Thieves

I am very confused as to what exactly their plan was for the highly recognizable therefore difficult to sell bicycles, but two men have been arrested for stealing bicycles from the new Spokies bike share program: On May 22, police were called to the WestTown Day Shelter near N.W. 3rd Street and N. Tulsa Cyclist Dies in Hit-and-Run Crash

The Tulsa World is reporting that a cyclist that was hit on Saturday in a hit-and-run crash has died: A bicyclist seriously injured in a hit-and-run collision Saturday has died. Mowery Funeral Home identified the victim as Bobby Richardson, 51, of Owasso. Vandals Attack New Bicycle Signs

These absolutely wonderful, and given the limited nature of the cycling efforts around here, very surprising signs have been appearing around town. Finally, some recognition about the rights of cyclists on the roads and what is expected of motor vehicles. However, someone has decided that these signs shouldn’t be put up in the first place: Oklahoma City workers began installing signs to promote cycling in October, but vandals have torn down some of the new signs.
